Today, on September 3, 2025, Maruti Suzuki launched its new midsize SUV, the Victoris, which is strategically positioned between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara. The five-seater SUV will be retailed through the Arena dealerships, differentiating it from the Nexa-exclusive Grand Vitara. The Victoris will be offered with a choice of two powertrains: a 1.5L mild-hybrid petrol engine and a 1.5L strong-hybrid petrol engine, both lifted from the Grand Vitara.

Design and Features
The Victoris’s design is heavily influenced by both the e Vitara and the Grand Vitara, giving it a modern and robust look. Its rear features boomerang-styled 3D LED tail lamps, which are visible in a recent teaser and on test prototypes. The vehicle also has an integrated spoiler, a high-mounted stop lamp, and a shark fin antenna. The tailgate is large, hinting at a spacious boot.

The interior is expected to be feature-rich, appealing to buyers looking for modern conveniences. A nine-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be the centerpiece of the cabin. The vehicle will also include a semi-digital instrument cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel, automatic climate control, and selectable drive modes.

Powertrain and Safety
The Victoris will offer the same reliable and fuel-efficient powertrains as the Grand Vitara. The 1.5L mild-hybrid and 1.5L strong-hybrid engines provide a mix of performance and fuel efficiency. A CNG variant with an underbody tank is also on offering a compelling alternative for cost-conscious buyers. The SUV will be generously equipped with safety features, including six airbags as standard across the range.

Market Position and Pricing
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris enters one of the most competitive segments in India. With a likely price range of ₹10-16 lakh (ex-showroom), it will compete directly with established rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Mahindra Scorpio N, Toyota Hyryder, and Honda Elevate. Its spacious interior, powerful engine options, and extensive feature list make it an attractive option for both midsize SUV buyers and those considering a top-end compact SUV. The Victoris is poised to be another strong seller for Maruti Suzuki, leveraging the brand’s reputation for reliability and value.
