Tata Harrier EV Enters Production, Deliveries Set to Begin This Month
Pune, India – July 4, 2025 – Adding a powerful new chapter to India’s electric vehicle revolution, Tata Motors today announced that the much-anticipated Harrier EV has officially entered series production at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pune. The first all-electric SUV unit has rolled off the production line, signalling the imminent commencement of customer deliveries across India in the next 10-15 days.
The bookings for the Harrier EV, launched last month in the Indian market, commenced just a couple of days ago on July 2, 2025, via the brand’s official website and authorized dealerships. Positioned in the ₹21.49 lakh to ₹30.23 lakh (ex-showroom) price range, the Harrier EV is poised to redefine the electric SUV segment with its robust performance, cutting-edge technology, and impressive safety credentials.

Dual Drivetrain Options and Diverse Variants
The Harrier EV offers versatility with both Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) and Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) configurations. The QWD variants are available in four grades: Adventure, Adventure S, Fearless+, and Empowered, catering to a wide range of preferences and needs. The RWD configuration, designed for efficiency and urban usability, is exclusively offered in the top-tier Empowered derivative.
Customers can choose from a palette of four striking colour options: Nainital Nocturne, Empowered Oxide, Pristine White, and Pure Grey. For those seeking a more assertive aesthetic, Tata Motors recently rolled out the Harrier EV Stealth Edition, which features a distinctive dark matte black exterior scheme and an all-black cabin upholstery, exuding a sophisticated and aggressive appeal. The Stealth Edition is exclusively offered with the larger 75 kWh battery pack, with both RWD and QWD options.

Acti.ev+ Architecture: A Foundation of Innovation
Underpinning the Harrier EV is Tata’s advanced acti.ev+ architecture, a dedicated pure EV platform that allows for greater design flexibility, improved performance, and enhanced range. This new platform has enabled the integration of several segment-first features that set the Harrier EV apart:
- 540° Surround View system: Offering unparalleled visibility around and even underneath the vehicle, enhancing safety and ease of manoeuvring.
- 14.5-inch Harman display powered by Samsung Neo QLED: A world-first in automotive, promising vibrant visuals and an immersive user experience.
- JBL 10-speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos: Delivering a premium, theatre-like audio experience within the cabin.
Beyond these, the Harrier EV boasts innovative charging capabilities with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) features, allowing the SUV to power external devices or even charge another EV. The standard boot capacity is a generous 502 litres, which can be expanded to a cavernous 999 litres by folding the rear seats, offering practicality for diverse lifestyles.
Uncompromised Safety and Robust Performance
Safety remains paramount for Tata Motors, and the Harrier EV exemplifies this commitment. It recently achieved the highest 5-star safety rating in crash tests conducted by Bharat NCAP. The electric SUV scored a perfect 32/32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and an impressive 45/49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP), making it one of the safest EVs on Indian roads.
The comprehensive safety suite includes:
- 7 airbags (with 6 airbags as standard across most variants)
- Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite, including features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and emergency braking.
- Hill Hold Assist
- Hill Descent Control
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
- 360-degree camera with transparent bonnet view
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
- Electronic parking brake with auto-hold
The Harrier EV is offered with two robust battery pack options: 65 kWh and 75 kWh. The range-topping Empowered 75 QWD variant is a powerhouse, featuring dual electric motors—one at each front and rear axle—delivering a combined power output of 156 bhp (front) and 235 bhp (rear). This configuration achieves a formidable 504 Nm of torque and can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in a mere 6.3 seconds, offering a truly exhilarating driving experience. The 75 kWh QWD variant boasts an ARAI-claimed range of 622 km, while the 75 kWh RWD variant promises an even higher 627 km.
With its competitive pricing, advanced technology, segment-leading safety, and the backing of Tata Motors’ extensive service network, the Harrier EV is set to be a formidable contender in the Indian electric SUV market, directly challenging rivals like the Mahindra XEV 9e, which is marginally more expensive. As the first units prepare to hit the roads, the Harrier EV embodies Tata Motors’ vision for a smarter, safer, and more sustainable mobility future.
